  • My Future Exhaust SetUp

Well this summer (hopefully) I will be buying a whole new exhaust for my camaro. Here is the setup I am going with.

    Hooker Headers 2460-1HKRs
Custom Y-pipe from the tuffy by my house
    Flowmaster kit 17233
Yes there will be no catalitic converter (my camaro doesn't have one right now either)
And a custom pipe from the Y-pipe to the Flowmaster Kit.
The muffler is an 80 series too

    What do you all think?

Yeah, x2, that's a bunch of money for shorties...you can get a good set of longtubes for about the same price.

Not a big fan of long tubes, they scrape, with the roads around my house...
I need at least new exhaust manifolds. I have a leak in my left front manifold. Its cracked right next to where a manifold bolt is missing.
Autozone price for the headers is $367.99 and for the flowmaster kit $405.99. And I am not sure if I can do this this summer, Just bought tires ($518.00) and I have to pay the $500 deductable on my insurance, plus pay the shop for the other stuff I had them do.

I may go with cheaper headers just because I don't have a lot of money

Hedmen long tubes fit pretty well, they sit up higher than the hooker longtubes which are ridiculously low. I'd go that route since you are going through the trouble of having a y-pipe made anyways.

y the hell would you buy headers and exhaust from autozone they are gonne be more then anywhere else 90% of the time

i had hedman long tubes those tuck up the highest
my hookers now are just as good and they have never scraped and im lowered and drive threw Pontiac where the roads are pretty tore up

tell you what pay me 500 & buy a flowmaster 80 series and ill weld you up a custom 3in y pipe all they way back to the muffler, ill buy the pipes you supply muffler

in the end with labor thats like 595 for a Y pipe and catback setup

a custom ory is ually around $100-150 so figure that plus the flowmaster catback 405 your spending 550 without labor installed

Well summit sells the flowmaster kit for $447.99, same with jegs, advanced is way high at $501.99, so autozone is the cheapest at $405.99

Ive had long tubes on my car for 3 years and they havent scraped once. They even cleared 2 different center-mount floor hoists!

im about 10 mins north of pontiac so its a drive we could figure out something either you drive out here or i drive there for a lil more $ its not bad i bought a car in lansing it was about hour and a half maybe but i was going slow

i mean i did my own single 3in setup was alright, went to a td dumped setup before the 408, then redid everything 3in over the axle because the 408 is just LOUD

i did tmrarb's td setup that tucks up nice and tight clear stock driveshaft saftey loop

pm me if your serious im down to helping people out
