  • Cam recommendations?

I've been looking into buying a set of aluminum L98 Corvette heads to replace the stock LB9 heads.

Since the heads will be off, I might as well put in a new camshaft, since I've been wanting one after hearing half the cars at the Meet and Greet sound all lumpy and awesome.

So, I'm just looking for ideas.

I want it to sound lumpy and badass, but it's gotta be streetable too, since I drive this thing every day.

Well, what are you looking for,
Low end, High end, mild, it depends on the setup you are going to run.

1989 Stock L98, Holley Stealth Ram intake, Hooker Headers, GMMG cat-back with cat-delete, #24 Bosch D3 Injectors

i would highly recommend getting a better intake if you are doing heads and cam. no sense in doing the work twice.

Im pretty sure you could get some lope out of even a stock LT1 cam with a 305.

$200 for L98 aluminum heads... Cam is maybe $300.

              Install $500ish. Tune: $400 ish...

              MAYBE $1500.

WMCCJames mentioned he did something to this extent with the 305 he had before, and picked up quite a bit...

                  valve-springs, retainers, locks, rockers, seals
                  maybe...push rods.
and a new intake manifold is kinda necessary to benefit

and thats CHEAP for an install from a shop...unless its not a shop.

for one you dont pick a cam for sound

2 dont waste the money on a 305, for the money wasted you could have bought a roller cam 350 setup

305 is a money pit like the 302 in the mustang... heads...cam..intake...sound good. run like crap still. summit proved a 302 is bad was still under 300whp with all supporting mods and pretty good HCI setup.
