The exhaust system should be hot enough to burn off anything INSIDE it, and most everything on the outside...there's no way it should be able to escape the engine still in liquid form, run down the exhaust pipe, and then puddle on the floor.
When was the last time this car was actually driven?
Are all the cylinders firing?

Maybe a stupid question, but is that portion of the exhaust actually hooked up to the engine?
That really shouldn't be possible.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! the whole exhaust is hooked to the engine. the exhaust smokes like a wild fire. but the whole time i have had this car stupid stuff like this has been happening i get something done to the car and something goes wrong and i cant find a good reason that would explain why whatever goes wrong does what ever it does. if that makes any sence at all.

OK, as I see it, this just got complicated...and now I've got more questions than answers.
What kind of motor is it?
Has it ever been rebuilt? How long ago?
Why was it parked 10 years ago?
Does it have a PCV valve? When was it last replaced?
My first wildass stab from the clear blue sky is that your rings are completely shot.
Pull all the plugs...they all should be nasty and coated, and I mean coated, with oil...that will be an indicator.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! it is a sbc 305. it is not the car originall engine to the car. i bought the car with no engine and no tranny. and as of right now there is no transmission on the car. i dont know if it has been rebuilt it was running when i bought it. i have a pvc valve that is the one on the valve cover right and it is brand new. and i will check those rings to see what the look like

i only check cylinders 1,2,3,4 and the spark plugs are horribly coated with oil but dry because it still had spark so those cylinders rings are shot and i have a spark plug book that say that that is the cause of the black spark plug. so does anybody want a 305 to rebuild because i dont want to put the time into a 305 i will sell this engine dirt cheap. and now i am in the market for buying a new engine anybody know of a small block v8.

the 283 is all tore apart and ready for a rebuild because i pulled the spark plugs and the didnt look the best. but i have to find a honer to very lightly hone the cylinder and buy new pistons and rings and gaskets and get the heads redone. and i dont have 500 to 750 dollars to do this for a while so i am going to try to get something to get me going. but i am very leary on buying any engine just because every engine i have bought i have gotten screwed and i cant afford to keep do that. so please can anybody help.
