  • Which Headers should I get?

I have a 1999 Z28, A4, engine is stock, just a lid. I want longtubes and I will eventually do ported heads and cam.

First, I am of the belief that headers will actually increase my fuel mileage. What do you guys think?

I plan to do non-emission headers and off-road Y-pipe and then get a basic tune to tune out the egr, etc. I will have to get another tune when I get around to heads/cam but that probably won't be until fall.

Which of these headers do you guys reccomend?

These are stainless and I like the Y-pipe design.

    These are ceramic coated.

I am leaning toward the stainless for durability reasons. They are about equal in price. What do you guys think?

    Thanks,

    John

Pacetters will be the same for less. Never seen the first ones you posted though but they look very nice.

I have also considered Pacesetters. I know the ceramic coating will decrease under hood temps. but the stainless steel will last a lot longer and won't rust or flake like I have seen some ceramic headers do. The TSP's also are 1 7/8 primaries as opposed to the others with 1 3/4 primaries. I'm not sure if I will ever need the larger primaries or if they will hur my low end torque.

Thanks for your opinions, please keep them coming.

Headers running into a single exhaust pipe are a waste of time & money.

BS... you can easily run a single 3" catback on a 1,000 hp car without issues... and 4" catbacks are available although they are overkill.

how much do you drive your car?

I have Jet Hot LT's and love them. They were relatively cheap, great fit, and look awesome with that jet hot coating. almost like a polish.

Apparently yur not up to date on modern performance. A high flowing 3 inch catback on a supra making 1200 hp aint bad...
