Video: Magnaflow cat back on 00 V6 Camaro

Friday I installed a Magnaflow stainless cat back on my 00 V6. It's 2.5" from the cat back with 3.5" polished dual tips and polished mufflers. It sounds pretty good but has really loud drone driving at 55-60mph inside the car. I'm going to put some sound deadener in the rear well to try and quiet it down since I'd get tired of it real fast. My wife doesn't like it that loud either and she's going to be driving it for a few months till we buy her something new.

our cars never sound good in neutral, it sounds much better under load. get some vids of it driving around or doing flybys or something. lookin good tho

I hate revs on a v6 they always sound raspy in the higher rpm's.
Get some dive by clips.
Sounds good at idle.

Yeah, new stock replacement cat thanks to the 8 year 80K mile Federal warranty! I'm not wasting any more money on this car for performance. I wanted an exhaust since I hated the stupid single left side exhaust on it. The only thing I might do yet is swap in a 3.42 posi rear from a 6 speed car. Open diffs SUCK!

The car looks nice with the chrome wheels and bigger Toyo tires! The exhaust upgrade look great too, but I'm not sure if the exhaust sound is an improvement or not. Need to hear a drive by to judge better.

Is that a V8 application or a V6 specific Magnaflow kit? Only reason I ask is the V6ers get heavy drone with a typical V8 exhaust setup so much so that Flowmaster added a wacky offset resonator to their V6 system to kill some of the highway drone. Might want to check that out and see if you can get just the resonator as I'm sure it would help cut the drown down to a mild roar. Look at the pic below to see the resonator which I believe fits under the rear passenger's seat. The resonator part number is 15128. Hope that helps.

It's a specific V6 Magnaflow kit. It's 2 1/4" at the cat that flares to 2 1/2" to the muffler and then 2 1/2 dual outs on the muffler. It's weird because it has both outlets on the left side and has a 180 bend on the end to send the pipe back to the other side of the car for the right side exit. Sound deadener should be here tomorrow so I'll try to get that installed this weekend. It doesn't help that the rear well has no sound deadener and just acts as a big echo chamber!
