  • Summit Racing and Pacesetter Headers

I am about to order a pair of pacesetter headers from summit racing and am wondering why there are 2 of the same headers for a lt1 Trans Am on the summit website.

    Here's the links

    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I'm just wondering what the difference is between the two and why one is more expensive that the other.

I don't want to order the wrong part.

    Thanks for the help.

The 70-2235's are for EGR and Air applications, the 70-2239's are for "race" applications. Simply put, non EGR setups. Either is a great choice but with the 39's you have to tear off your EGR/AIR systems.

There really isn't a bad or wrong choice but the "race only", non EGR, headers really clean up the engine compartment.

I don't have an extra $150 to spend, so I'm going to go the cheaper route.

Im willing to bet a sponsor of this site could get you a coated set for less than $150 more than that price. coating is worth it.

Do you have any vendors that you could recommend for price and quality?

I bought mine from victory racing. They might be close enough to save you some money on shipping. I picked mine up in person.

I can't find any Pacesetters that fit LT1's on the website, were yours any cheaper than Summit?

and I did change my mind, I'm going to get the ceramic coated ones. I did a little more research and I don't want my headers to rust that early. So thanks for the advice

Well, I think I found where I'm going to get my headers and y-pipe from, they are a sponsor for ls1lt1.com and I will be saving a bunch of money compared to summit. Here's the link http://speed-eng.com/store/index.php?cPath=24_84_968
I'm getting the "Race Only" Ceramic coated headers and the matching y-pipe. Thanks guys for all the help and getting me to pay the extra for the coated. I can't wait to get these things installed.
