Well, I couldn't find any hard evidence, but there sure is a huge amount of people that all say flowmasters suck for air flow. On LS1tech there was a post with flow tests:

I see the only place you found info was ls1tech, who seems to have guys throw out info like converter size, and cam profiles saying everyone should use this or that, from what I have seen there are not many guys there who actually do the work and have run it on a real dyno

lol My ex is driving a 89 Sunbird 3.1. It's really funny, because the muffler fell off, and instead of welding it back together, her dad welded it to the frame so it wouldn't fall off going down the road! It sounds like a POS Rustbucket Sunbird! Oh, wait a tic, IT IS ONE! lol

Alright, I'm going to chime in on this. I really don't think that Flowmaster's restrict flow enough untill you start running a heavily modded set up. Anything under 400 hp I highly doubt it will make a difference. Now, if you have the money and plan on going over that, yes I would research and buy a nicer setup like the gmmg, borla, or corsa. However, I bought the Flowmaster American Thunder cat-back system to replace my stock exhaust last year. Why, 2 reasons, I've always loved the sound of a Flowmaster, and the price. For $315 shipped to my door through Summit, I got a system that fit perfectly, had all the hangers and hardware, and went up faster than it took to get the stock system out. If you are on a budget like I am, I think it was the way to go, I LOVE THE SOUND OF IT!!!! IMO it was well worth the $315, and, the tips are stainless about 18" up and are welded to the aluminized steel. So, you can polish them, and it looks like a stainless system.

As for the true duals, I'd try to sell the mufflers you have if they are in decent shape you should be able to get at least $50-$75 for them as they are not cheap new. Sell the system, you are going to be hard pressed to fit that on the camaro, not to mention, if you bend them yourself or weld you may get some restrictions without a mandrel bender. So if I were you Nick, save your money, sell the system, buy an American Thunder cat-back when you put the LT1 in, your really can't beat it for the money. You can always upgrade later when you are better able to afford it, that's what I'll be doing someday.
