  • new Oxygen Sensors

Ok, I am puting in my new headers today on my 93 Formula and was wondering if it would be a waste of money to put new o2 sensors in it when the old ones didnt throw any codes and didnt seem to have a problem with them...i know it doesnt ever hurt to put new things on, but car did sit for a few years when i bought it and was thinking about just changing them out. So would it be worthwhile or a waste of money....Thanks

If they have over 50K miles on them I'd change them out. It's easier to install new ones into new headers instead of fighting to get the old ones out. They're probably rusted in pretty good.

or if your strapped for cash, just take em out and hit em with a wire brush a little bit to get whats on them off, and they should be fine. I don't know how much the header O2's are so I don't know if it's worth it to take the time to get em out

It's a waste of money....if the old ones still work. Tell ya what, if you are gonna get new ones, I'll take your old ones since you are probably gonna chuck them in the trash.

ok gotcha, well in that case your set, but i would still keep or give away the old ones, considering they're suppose to last 100 k plus miles
