  • V6 and a cut out?

I have always wanted my car loud, but being a DD, I wasnt sure If I REALLY wanted a loud exhaust. So what about leaving the factory quiet exhaust on the car, and getting an electric cut out? My cat is shot its rattling bad so I was going to get a car sound put on when I do the cut out, would a car sound make the cut out sound better or worse? Or should I just have a regular cat put on? How bad would a cut out sound on a v6? Kinda like a TSP system or no? Who makes a good electric cut out? Ive herd of DHsomething and Quicktime, who's better? Sorry for all the questions, just really curious.

    Thanks in advance!

well I would definatly replace that cat but it shouldn't have much effect on the cutout sound, honestly I would imagine its not gonna sounds that good but it'll certaintly be louder. As for a cutout I have a QTP electric cutout just sitting in my room that I may be interested in selling but its a 3"

dont do it, i really think itd rasp and sound terrible! i have a 3inch loudmouth catback on my car with a high flow cat, sounded good at idle but it was just downright annoying anything above 55 mph, also taking off full throttle was just downright raspy and rice sounding. so i put on a twister bullet muffler that quieted it down slightly and minimized rasp i really cannot imagine enjoying the sound of a v6 with a cutout..
if you want a nice sounding muffler that is fairly loud check the for sale section I have my old flo pro vforce setup on there it was fairly loud at takeoff but it was never annoying and sounded pretty good for a v6, that one is for 2 1/4 dual exhaust, it was louder than my brothers magnaflow but I thought it sounded great. even at highway speeds

When I had my v6 bird and we didn't have the o2 sensor in and it sounded like crap. Stopped down the road and screwed the o2 in a little just to close the hole.

every v6 is going to RASP..no way on stopping it unless you were to get a v8

2.5 piping is the way to go on a v6 IMO

I have to disagree with you, if the muffler restricts quite a bit there shouldnt be rasp, just a nice exhaust note that is obviously a v6..

v6's all rasp..no matter what you do to it..it will rasp..you could have the best sounding exhaust for a 6'er..best in all of the world..but people dont realize it will still rasp

The rasp is like the energizer bunny..even though you will try and run from it..it will always be right there next to you

thats a negative ghostrider..... not all 6 cylinder's rasp. my jetta doesnt rasp.... and thats got a mangaflow and 2.5 inch exhaust... granted it loud as shit but not raspy.

I meant to say v6's on fbodies...

you just cant hide from it..could be a little rasp bite size M&M or big rasp rossane style.

it all just depends on how the exhaust flows as to how much rasp there will be

Do it, how many can say they have a v6 fbody with cutout? Its not like you have to have it loud the whole time.

Rasp has alot more to due with pipe size than what muffler is on it.
