running rich

ive been meaning to post this for a while. since ive added the LS6 intake and LTs along with removing the egr and air system, the car seems to be running very rich. when i come to a stop at a light or stop sign, the exhaust will catch up and you can smell the gas/oil/emissions in the exhaust and its bad enough to question it. i know it needs a tune, but is there something simple it could be? will one of the ls1edit tuners fix this? i want it dyno tuned but want to wait as i may add a cam and stall this winter. car seems to run good, besides losing the low end torque. tons of power in upper rpm range although. i also think that my pcv valve is backwards because i took it off and cant remember which way it came off, anyone have a pic? anyways any help would greatly be appreciated.

your car corrects itself to 14.7:1 afr during idle and part throttle conditions.

Do you have cats? if you removed them the car will definately smell more.

you could potenitally have bad oxygen sensors that are not allowing the computer to correct.

I'd hook up my Hp tuners and have a look-see.. but you need to find someone with a licence for your model year or buy the $99 licence for your car.

I'm betting you don't have cats like DanO said. Nothing you can do about the smell it if that's the case.

correct, no cats. the smell isnt real bad, just much more noticeable. maybe i should look into some hi flo cats??? just wondering if im losing hp becuse of it running rich. i do need someone to hook me up with hp tuners or the other one. still need my shift points adjusted also.

i guess i will see how the car runs friday night. if im faster then i was last year, i wont worry about it so much, if im slower i will cry, lol.
