Roller Rocker Questions

can anyone tell me what i would need to install roller rockers on my 350. will i need guide plates and stuff and if i do, are they installed under the studs. I've never know anyone that had them so i'm clueless about this.

depends. if you have self aligning rockers right now then you can get self aligning roller rockers. I had self aligning rockers stock, but I had the heads cut out and milled down for guideplates and ran regular roller rockers.

You can tell either if there's a little lip where the rockers meet the valve stems (to prevent them from sliding on the sides) or if you can see the absence of a guideplate holding the pushrods in place so they dont move. When you get roller rockers, there isnt really any large difference (performance wise) from self-aligning or not. You may notice a little bit more noise, but nothin to worry about. I have self aligning and they work just fine.

Yes, guide plates are installed under the screw in studs.

If you put plates on you should have the pedastals milled down to maintain the same overall height.
