So I recently bought a 95 Z28 roller that I swapped all my stuff into and the car had a stupid alarm that I removed and so I soldered all the wires back together. Along with that the dash is completely gutted as far as hvac goes. There's a connector under the dash that is jumped so the radio will turn on, I'm not sure if this is related but I've searched for diagrams on the door jam switches to see if I could track this issue down but haven't come up with anything. The driver side door jam switch only has one connector on it, is this normal? Any help would be much appreciated.

The wire going to the interior lights is the positive side and is hot all the time. the other side the negative side is what goes to the door jam switches. you have a ground issue keeping lights on. At least this is how I remember the wiring diagram. get a meter and follow it out.sigpic

Why do you need that radio jumped through that wire? That might be your problem, just unhook it and see what happens. They probably just didn't replace a fuse or something and couldn't get the radio on, so they went to another wire and did it wrong. I think with those there is only one or two door trigger wires, gray which is behind the driver side rear speaker, or grey black in the driver kick panel. Just make sure they aren't grounding out, or that they are actually connected. It's been a while since I've done a remote start/security system in one of thesesigpic
