  • Alternator to Battery wire

Anyone know what gauge wire goes from the alternator to the battery. Mine is a bit short and pulled lose on me yesterday causing an awful headache and sun burn finding why my car decided to lose all power and die on the side of the road.

Do you have the original wire? Take it to your parts store and match it up. Probably 10 or 12 ga.

Ya, I have the wire still, its still connected. That's what I was figuring a 10 or 12 didnt know if someone knew off hand before I make a trip to a parts place and hope they could get a size cause I don't want a stock wire. Its so short and cant be tucked away the way I want.

Thanks, Brent but I got. Something that couldn't wait cause the connector was junk from me rigging it to make it home the other day from its misventure. Just glad it wasn't something crazy that takes more time to find and fix.

If you're changing the one, you might as well upgrade the big three. Made a solid improvement on my old 4th gen when running underdrive pulleys. I ran good quality cea rated 4 gauge wire.

Sounds like a plan but not in the budget right now. Just rebuilt it for the 2nd time and have replaced almost everything and the battery wires should of made that list but was going for things that most needed replaced. I got by just replacing the connection for now. Wire is a bit short to my liking but it'll get me to the M&G Saturday
