I basically have the same thing. I just wanted to know where you spliced it into your harness. Or did you just run a switch ?

Mine is run straight into the fuse box. I had a relay before that which i thought was the right way to do it, but after the relay failed twice I canned that. I'd rather burn some electrics up than warp my heads. Its been perfectly reliable this way.

Thanks for the insight, what fuse did you use ? did you put in a fuse tap ?

The painless kit just hooks to power distribution block or battery then hook up to a key on 12v souce

Either of those ways will work. I'd run an SPDT relay off a fused 12v from the battery. Then take the trigger source from either a switch or a temp sensor. If you want it running all the time while the engine is running and don't want a switch, take your trigger source off of 12v ignition at the ignition harness or fusebox.

I'm not sure exactly how much current that pump draws, but I wouldn't advise running one without a relay, appropriate gauge wire, and fusing.

You will want a relay. The Painless kit makes it really easy. A good place to get your 12v main power is from the starters main post. I run a heavy gauge wire from the starter to a 12v distribution block that I install. Then you can tap into that for anything you want to hook up. For the low amp trigger there should be open aux terminals at the fuse box that you can plug into. There will be key on, and full on terminals. So you will need to determine the correct one to tap into.
