Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Hey guys, can someone please tell me by looking at the attached image, does the older 94 Opti's have the Vacuum outlet like the arrow is pointing to or do both the vented and non vented have this line? The reason i ask is because my opti has this vacuum outlet on it but it is not even hooked up....my car is a 94 lt1 so im curious if someone has either upgraded the timing cover and opti to vented or if my motor is newer than 94? Thanks,

93 and 94 did not have vented opti's, however the picture posted is 95-97 opti, 1. because of vacumn (arrow pointing to) and below arrow is intake vent. the major other difference is this is a pin drive where as 93-94 are spline drive. You need to know this for which type of cam you order. Note: larger slot between clover leaf loops. that's where pin on end of cam shaft drives opti.

Thanks 98, I guess I can assume that my motor is not a 94 model lt1 then which means I have a vented Opti.....where exactly do I hook the vent hose to on my intake elbow, I have an aftermarket CAI and it has no place to attach the vent hose.....is it necessary to have the vent hose hooked up?
Thanks,
Stephen

Doesn't matter where you hook the intake hose onto your elbow, but if you have a vented optispark then having the hose hooked up is definitely recommended.
I think shbox.com shows the way it is connected, Most peeps drill hole in elbow for air intake. Just read through your thread on mild build and serial numbers so looks like you have a 95 engine. That's a good thing.

Last year I ordered the Vacuumn line from chevy dealer, There is a check valve in the line so I got the assembly. Just FYI I had 95 formula before my current TA.
