First a little story,
Ive been needing to do the head gaskets on my 94 LT1 for pretty much the entire summer. Ive been working on getting my truck ready so that I could still have something to drive, if the gaskets ended up being more than just a weekend job. Well the truck got finished and the next day the car took a dump, find out that the starter casing broke and it wouldnt start. ( tried bump starting it but wouldnt go so I figured it is hydro-locked )
So I decide I am going to do a total rebuild and then stumble upon a 355 LT1 out of a 4th gen camaro drag car, sweet !
Here is the problem I am looking at: The motor came with a painless wiring harness that is set up with an OBDII connector and custom tune on the computer to run with the modded motor. My car is a 94 so it has an OBDI connector.
Question: Can I drop that motor in and just plug the computer into the factory harness ? add all of the smog sensors and have it run ? ( Canadian smog laws, ugh -_- )
Thanks in advance guys, cant wait to get this car up and running again.
