  • LSx Datalogging

What's out there for logging PCM information from a LSx computer? Many years ago I used to use Datamaster I believe when I had an LT1 computer, but now with the 24x conversion I don't know what my options are without breaking the bank. Buying an entire tuning suite to record speed/rpm/etc. during a run is not an option.

Anything that will scan OBDII will work.

Any suggestions as to what's best? I was under the (probably false) impression that most devices didn't record the info for later playback. I'm hoping for something that uses a usb or bluetooth interface so I don't have 25 feet of cable with 2 different adapter boxes strung across my passenger compartment.

Honestly I don't have any recommendations.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Logging is one thing - but if you can't change the tune, it doesn't do much good.

Have you considered a used HPtuners setup? Should be able to find one with some credits left for $200-250.

Right now I just want to see basic things like exactly what rpm I'm shifting at, for instance. I shift higher than the factory tach can read, and I want to figure out where to set my shift light to get the exact shift rpm I want. Also want to see what RPM I drop down to between shifts, stuff like that.

If I could find a used HP Tuners setup with credits and all the necessary hardware for that price, I'd consider it.

It would be perfect for that. Go download the trial of PCM scan and check it out.

                  Standard cheepo ELM327 OBDII cable.

This is the EXACT one I use, I have had it forever.

However, I also have one of these and I dig it. Its part of my everyday carry.

Ordered an ELM327 Mini bluetooth adapter. For less than $15 I won't be too heartbroken if it doesn't work out.
