  • Wiring Harness Removal Question

Has anyone here completely removed all the wires from their engine bay? I'm in the process of doing this and I'm hung up at one last part. Right where the harness goes through the firewall, next to the brake booster is a black plug with gray clips and a screw holding it at the top to the firewall. I've removed the screw and now the rest of the connector is held in by an electrical glue. My only question is.... is it safe to pull this apart or am I going to destroy the connector all together when I do it? Sorry I don't have a better pic of where it is, I'll take a better one tomorrow.

It's not held in with glue. If you look from inside the car, there's a tab on the top and bottom that you need to push with your fingers. I took a picture of the V6 harness I have hanging up in my garage and then my phone promptly died. Give me about 10 minutes and I'll have it up.

Here ya go. My fingers are on the tabs that you need to squeeze:

If yours has glue on it, just push it out. It shouldn't affect anything. It's probably on there to further waterproof the bulkhead.

Sounds good, thanks bud. I saw those tabs when I had looked inside the car I just didn't feel like disconnecting 5 more clips lol
