  • Passlock III Disable

Does anyone have experience in disabling the GM Passkey III security system?

I'm dealing with an 01 Olds Aurora that has a "Theft Fault" on the DIC.

Sounds the same as passkey II except resistor is in the ignition switch. Can probably be turned off with hptuners and grounding starter relay.

    Used to own a Firebird.

if you can turn it off in the PCM thats what I would do.

It be cheaper/easier to get a 50hz box off ebay and wire that to the PCM so that you take the BCM/Key out of the equation.

The Passkey III has a key with a built in chip, but its not like the old style where you can see it.
It has an exciter that surrounds the ignition tumbler in the dash.

Most modules I've found only allow for temporary bypass for remote start uses. None seem to have the permanent bypass so far.
