  • Bcm going bad??

Ok so.. About a month ago I got led's in the front (turn/drl) and installed resistors to make it flash.. Only worked when the headlights are off.. They would just stay solid and not flash.. So I got me a tridon el12 flasher.. Installed it and hid foglights .. Installed at the same time.. Now I pop fuses .. When I turn the key #5 tail lps fuse fails instantly, about 10secs later #7 pwr accy fails.. I have no dash lights only the oil pressure and voltmeter gague works.. No radio and no tail lights or drl's.. Turn signals work now lol.. I was thinkin bcm but everything works.. Untill the fuse pops. Help please lol

Not sure of how you powered the leds and Hids. from your description sounds like you need to install a relay in the circuit to power the hids. The BMC and fused circuits can't handle the draw. Get a circuit diagram so you see what those fuses power.

I have read that I wouldn't need to get a relay with 35w hids.. Where do u recomend I buy the relays from?
      Thanks

just bought a relay kit off eBay.. If I would have known all this extra bs wire was needed I wouldn't have bothered.. It just bugged me having hid's in the headlights and not fogs... Oh well

I just go to local junk yard and get my relays and connectors off a GM vehicle when I need them.

Ok so I disconnected the fogs replaced fuses and started it up.. Everything worked fine.. So I'm guessing that the extra power needed to run 2 seperate hid kits are too much for the stock sys to handle.. So that's where the relay comes into play.. If there's a relay to wire in .. Do I have to run power to a switch? Lol maybe I'm just thinkin too much

the switch that you have to turn on hids gets wired to pick relay coil. then relay contacts aply power, you can get power direct from power terminal on passenger fender. be sure to still wire in afuse.
