  • Power window is starting to go.

I was just wondering how to know whether the window regulator needs replacing or not... My driver's side window is finally not wanting to go up every time I press the button, but is it just the motor or the regulator? I've never been too sure of the difference

    Probably just the motor.

Takes about $50 and a hour. Drive up and Ill help ya if need be.

The regulator (the asmbly that hold window glass) usually don't break, if they do its the rollor that goes in the track. The most prominate failure is the motor.

Yup motor. I got mine for $22 at the local parts store. I don't know if there is a difference or not but my driverside was a breeze compared to the passengers.

I did the resistor mod thing with mine when it stopped working. Simple and fixed the motor and it is faster than it was before it stopped working. Just pop the cap off, take out the resistor, and solder across the leads. Only "downside" is that if you forget to take your arm out of the window and continue to roll the window up (without realizing your arm is in it obviously) then it won't overheat and stop like it was designed to. I wasn't too scared of that...
