My fiance just purchased a set of tail lights from a 91 or 92 trans am ( you know those two piece ones that have "pontiac" written on the back that are pretty rare)for our 85 trans am. We are now having a major issue installing. In 1985 they only had red and white lights, connecting both the turn and brake lights together (so there are two lights that light up when you brake or use your turn signal). In 91 they switched over and added the orange turn signal (maybe they did this even earlier). This has created an obvious problem since we can't have an orange brake light. Basically I need to know how to separate the wiring so that only one of the lights is for the brake and one for the turn signal. Please help!!!!!

ok so I found out that I had to get the 91 harness to go with it. So we got that and since the connector were different I spliced the new harness into the original connecor (and yes colors match). New problem though - the light that is supposed to be the turn signal no longer flashes when turn signal is on and it is still working as the brake light. Any ideas??????85 Trans Am
