Just curious - would loosing just 1 plug wire from the opti cause the car to die? I always thought these things could run on 7 cylinders - not well but still run. Am I mistaken?

It wasn't the coil. Cylinder 8 plug wire is what I found hanging loose. The car died at an idle in the left hand turn lane. I didn't think it would cause the car to die though...sigpic

Were you able to restart it?
I'm not sure about LT1's but a stock tuned LS1 with an auto will idle at close to 500 RPM's when warm. It wouldn't take much to bring the RPM's down and cause it to stall at that point

Wasn't able to restart it. Had to tow the damn thing home. PCMforLess tune.... maybe the issue?
See my worse fear is that the plug wire coming off is just a minor issue and the the real problem is the opti. Of course I won't know that untill I get a new set of wires on the car... and a new starter. *sighs*Last edited by MeenZ28; April 7th, 2011, 08:58 AM.sigpic
