ok so i did a cc306 cam i put it all back together tdc and it my rotor is 180deg off the rotor is pointing up and on the inside of the cap #1 is at the bottom. i am so confused i have no clue what do to ohh the car is a 95 z28

This is not supose to happen, but Brian and I did the same thing when installing opti. the are 3 holes on the back of the opti drive, one is round (the drive hole) the other two are of different shape. Pull the opti since you have the cover off its easier, line up the round hole with the drive pin and install it. Doesn't matter what time your at. If that doesn't put you in correct time then your cam is 180* off. I believe shbox.com has diagram of spark plug wire position on opti.sigpic

when you line up the dots on the timing gears you are not at TDC. You are 180 degrees off. If you spin the motor over 1 full turn, the dot on the cam gear will still be at the top and then the cam gear will be at the top too (instead of the bottom). This is tdc.When in doubt, Whip it out !
