Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Last spring I bought a new key fob for my car (1998). When I went to program it, nothing happened. My guess is that it already has 4 programmed to it and thus will take no more. Is there any way to reset it? And is it controlled by the BCM?
Figure the dealership guys will know more about this...
her is the only thing listed in gm's transmitter programming section hope this helps
Important: Programming of the transmitters cannot be done simultaneously. The first transmitter must be completely done before the second transmitter is programmed.
Perform the following to program the transmitter(s):
• Pull the radio fuse (# 17).
• Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to RUN 3 times within 5 seconds.
The body control module (BCM) will indicate that it is in a programming sequence by locking, and unlocking the doors and activating the hatch release.
• Depress and hold lock and unlock on the first transmitter for up to 16 seconds.
The door locks will lock and unlock and the hatch will release again to provide feedback that a transmission has been recognized.
Wait for the door locks to unlock before proceeding.
• Depress and hold lock and unlock on the second transmitter for up to 16 seconds.
Important: Failing to wait for the doors to unlock before proceeding with the next step will result in one or both of the transmitters not being programmed.
• The door locks will lock and unlock and the hatch will release again to provide feedback that a transmission has been recognized.
Wait for the door locks to unlock before proceeding.
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Replace the radio fuse (# 17).
• If at any time it is necessary to restart the procedure, turn the ignition OFF and proceed again with step number 1.
I actually just went through this today with my sisters 99 Grand Am. We tried everything we could find online, but nothing worked. Luckily the high school auto shop has a Tech 2, I just went up there and it provides a way to program remotes. I don't know if a regular scanner will work, but if you happen to be in my area this week, I could help you out. 48879 zip
the way i put is right from gm service information . i dont think 98s were tech 2 .
Tech II deals with the BCM. Wish it were simple and went through the pcm because then I could probably just use HPT. Either way my BCM is kinda screwed...VATS hit and I just left it out of the mix. Radio and windows still work though.
If you run into problems, shoot a PM to TSTONE (i.e. Todd)...he works at LaFontaine Cadillac over by you...

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
