lol nope just maintainence. I gotta fix this damn oil leak I have had all year, hook up my gauges and put them in so I can stop looking at a bare a-pillar, figure out why my driver side fan isn't working, find a new clock spring so I can replace it and then just some misc appearance things.

I know that LS pcm will help your car out a ton, I'm excited to see how well it performs afterwards.

im not sure if there will really be a change in power at all It has a good tune on it with the stock PCM so im not sure where I could improve.

Its for sure gonna be a lot of work and time to get everything right. But i did just get my heat sink truck coils and 2002 PCM in yesterday!

The LS1 pcm is going to help my car out more than it will ryan's. He already has OBD2 which tunes more precisely (if you know what you are doing) than what ive got to work with.

Then again, im not going to have a fair before and after. With the option to upgrade to an LS1 pcm with HPT, I dont even have the slightest hint of motivation to mess around crunching numbers on this OBD1 junk anymore.... and the tune ive been running is a guess at best.

maybe a little he was already spinning the opti to 6800 lol

coils will have better ignition in the big end though which will definitely help.

And speaking of this, if anyone has a line on a 2002 PCM or truck coils let me know.

If your using Jon's HPtuners that is half mine as well so it works for 98 pcms too.

im not going to be spinning any higher than 6800. I still think that is quite a bit, im positive my cam doesnt need more than that anyway. I could spin to 7200-7300 with my stock PCM, but dont, because I have no need for so much RPM. I could see MAYBE a 5rwhp gain due to better spark quality, but not any bit more.

yea biggest benefit will be not towing the damn thing home when you rev too high.

I'll have to research that. The kits are designed around 01/02 pcms.

Ultimately i plan on buying my own license and software, but if i get it done this winter ill probably just going to use your/jon's lisence in the spring to get it off the ground until i get the money.

Yeah thats my reasoning for doing the swap in the first place. My opti is working fine, no miss up top or anything!! I like to drive the car a lot and want it to be as reliable as possible. I dont expect any power increase at all, im not doing it for that reason.

reliability is a VERY good reason IMO. I'm surprised your not doing any other performance mods to your car this winter Ryan, I assume your at least gonna throw a better tire on there?

I'd like to but money is just tight. Im not sure where I can even go from here unless I got FI or nitrous either. Motor is freshly built and so is the rear end. If anything small happens it wont be until the early early spring.

I hear ya on that. You really can make your car quite a bit faster by just dialing in your combo though, small things like suspension settings and the right tune make all the difference in the world.

I do, and if not I will be less than a tenth away. When my rear was broken at Ubly I couldn't launch the car but I still ran great mph consistently and I think it would have gone 11 teens just the way it was had it not been for the broken posi.
