TR55 are a hotter plug and my car ran noticeably better with a TR6 which is otherwise the exact same plug.

I also gap at .035 to minimize resistance.

This is a topic that i got PM'd by people about because everyone likes to argue in favor of TR55s on the boards.

haha try gapping down a TR-55 and see how that runs.

(A TR-6 is gapped at .035" right out of the box)

I did, TR6s are better. TR55s being "the right plug" is bad info thats been spread around for years. Ill run TR6s with or without nitrous.

            TR-6 for sure with nitrous.

Joel - I think im gonna have to start messing around with a tr-6, im gapping a 55 so low that I dont know if its good. and plus with this new ignition setup I should be able to open up the gap for a little hotter spark. idk, its all really trial and error

I have been running the TR55 for 3yrs with no problem
I also changed Red's car to a regular TR55 instead of the platinum and it ran way better.

Im not saying TR55s ever gave me any problems. Im saying my car ran better with a TR6

And yea ryan youre right I might give TR55s a try again when i switch to coil packs. I also checked my notes, im gapping my TR6s at .045, not .035.

your voltage doesnt run through an awesome thing known as an opti, you can probably get away with more resistance.

Yea I believe factory gapping for the ls motors is 55 to 65, mine are at 60 IIRC.

Edit yup FSM recommends .060 for ls motors.
