  • rear defrost switch

Well, lucked out this time. On my 99 the rear defrost switch went out UNDER WARRANTY. Not so on this 02.

Anyone know where I can even GET the switch? Is it true I have to replace the whole panel not just a simple switch? (may have to learn how to disassemble the dang switch and replace)

Any other info would be great. I doubt I'm the only MI member who's had to replace this switch, as it's happened twice to me!

Go to dealer, they can order it, takes couple days. Most of the switches clip in becareful or you'll break the clips.

For what it's worth, Ebay has them for around 20-40 + S&H.

Not so true. I replaced the switch/panel and it still didn't work till I replaced the $2 relay in the fuse box. Believe me, it's a tedious little operation. It can be done but have patience and don't lose your head. The cable only gives so much room and the fan speed switch check ball tends to fall out.
