oil to ignition???

I drove my car a couple days ago and everything was great. Good pressure ran good. My low oil light was on but i have a bad sensor. So thought nothing of it drove 50 miles or so. Came on and parked it. I thought i better check it cause i wanted to drive it tomorrow. While i checked it and its all the way down to the add line.

Oil smells good but dirty but i changed to pennzoil.


Today guys i put a quart of oil in and took it for a drive...when i got home i heard a tick noise...so i popped the hood and my number 8 ignition coil was arcing and making the noise...what could have caused this and what should i do? Haven't pulled it apart yet either. Thats tomorrows project. So much for the beach!

Hoping thats the problem!! any good places in GR or by Allendale that i can pick an ignition coil one up? its a 98 if that helps!

Not sure who is open on saturdays. I know kenowa auto supply just off lake michigan drive in standale should be open tommarrow. Otherwise you would have to try napa(allendale auto supply) which is back behind the true value hardware in allendale.

P.S. The car is in allendale right now? Haven't seen it around. Mine is sittin out front of our house on lake michigan drive right now waitin for me to take it for a cruise

Found the problem...somehow my spark plug wire came loose. Still not sure about the oil tho.

Hey where bouts on lake michigan? I live right next to the GVSU campus at least till the end of july, i'm subleasing. I was out driving up and down lake mich earlier seeing if anything else wanted to fall off my car lol

what?! I guess I gotta open my eyes more. I live in the house right next to our shop, Hansen-Dyke Automotive, directly across the street from the GVSU arch/entrance. You probably haven't seen my car because I only drive it once in a great while on really nice days, the rest of the time its tucked away in the barn. it was sittin out yesterday though lol. Sounds like you live right next to me and I never knew it! lol.
