I think the shop screwed something up when they reinstalled everything.. I had the car for the weekend last week, no issues.. Now when you shut the car off the key won't return to the off position, it stops 1/2 way between start and off. I have to jiggle it around and mess with the shifter and after a few tries it will come all the way back so I can remove the key. What I think is happening is the ignition does not know the car is in park, reason I think this is because I noticed today I can take the car out of park and through all the gears without my foot on the brake.. What should I check? ideas?

does your car have a electronic shifter? The Original

Two things - you either need to adjust the shifter gear select cable that goes from the shift knob to the transmission or it could be in the ignition column.
Truth be told, my car does that all the time since we got it running. But in my case it's because my automatic to manual knob adapter sticks so the shift knob isn't coming up all the way... I have to wiggle the shifter and then it will eventually go up all the way and then the key can come out of the ignition.- Brian Meissen

Larry did the mess with the Trans??
Sounds like they had your Stearing out of the inside of your car so maybe check and see if the missed a connector.
Other wise I would go back and lay down some smack and have them fix it.

Larry, if you remove the consul there is a soleniod in front of gear selector that has to be fully engauged to get key out. It seems with everything we did with B's car there are 3 things. 1 the solenoid 2 the gear shift knob has to release up and 3 thecable to trans has to be adj right.

That's what it is, the solenoid isn't fully engaging unless I firmly push the shifter into park. They know about it and will fix it along with some other issues(non mechanical).. For now I am going to drive it as is, been a long wait.. Oh, and I may be biased, but holy shit does my car look badass now.. Wow, I love it.. Hope you all like it???sigpic
