  • Neg battery cable and ground question...

ls1 fbody, I need to know where the negative battery cable goes, I see one part goes to the body ground by the battery but where does the other end go? Also there are several ground straps on the passenger side, where do those go?

    Negative Cable

    1. Install the negative cable to the harness conduit.

    2. Install the ground lead (2) to the engine block.
    3. Install the negative cable to engine block bolt (1).

    Tighten
Tighten the negative cable to engine block bolt (1) to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

    4. Install the battery cable rosebud clip at the accumulator bracket.

    5. Install the ground lead to the wheelhouse stud.
    6. Install the negative cable nut at the ground terminal.

    Tighten
Tighten the negative cable ground terminal nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
    7. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
    Hope that helps

I really don't think a motor mount is gonna be a good ground Spencer, you may wanna try and find a spot actually connected to the block.

That is where the LT 1 goes, there are 2 grounds 1 small eyelet, we connected that with bracket to hold oil dip stick. the 2nd grd larger eyelet bolts to motor mount. Bottom front of 3 bolts on motor mount was a stud that bolts motor mount to engine then another nut for grd wire.
