Collins had lot of tuning experience as well and we all know how that went. I would not settle for anything your not comfortbale with on your car, be picky IMO.Doing less with more

Point well made. Not saying it's not OK to be picky, but I'm also saying that I wouldn't hesitate to take my car to Steve.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View PostCollins had lot of tuning experience as well and we all know how that went. stock cam won't make power anywhere near 6400. 6200 is plenty .
30.5 should be OK . Most ls1's(h/c, strokers) like 28-29.
The narrow band o2 is what scares me. 02 readings change with age. No way to really check the accuracy of one. widebands normally have a self cal and get checked with Butane to check the sensor

Dont take me posting the wrong way I know Steve knows his shit I just have a few things Im worried about and wanted to get everyone elses opinion on what I should have changed at the m&gOriginally posted by meissen View PostRegardless, Steve's got a lot of experience with tuning and I'm sure he wouldn't set it to something that he wasn't confident would be OK.
Should the car have been put on wideband? btw I paid 275 for my tune01 NBM Base SS build #514 M6 Pat G/EPS 230/234 111+4 Cam, LS2 Heads, Tick Master,Extreme Chassis 8.8 with 4.30's, BMR LCA And Torque Arm, Edelbrock PHB, FIPK intake, Ported TB. Jet-Hot LT Headers TSP True Duals Tuned By SB Tuning

oh yeah, no problems wasn't taking it otherwise. I've seen the thread on LS1Tech and they're a bunch of know-it-alls on there that instantly think everyone else doesn't know anything.- Brian Meissen

Rev limiter is very important on a manual car. If you are shifting at 5k, and miss your shift when power shifting, it gets to 6200 FAST. If the rev limiter wasn't there, who knows how high it would spin.

Ya I know theres alot like that on there thats why I didnt post the thread from Ls1tech hereOriginally posted by meissen View Postoh yeah, no problems wasn't taking it otherwise. 1. I am slightly worried about the narrowband Frost on Ls1tech has a good rep as a tuner and he was concerned about it which worried me so thats why I restarted this thread to get some better input
2. I would rather have the limiter at 6200 I really see no point of going any higher with the stock cam
3. Timing Im also torn on if my engine is making anymore power at 30.5* vs say 28* any of you been to the dyno to see?01 NBM Base SS build #514 M6 Pat G/EPS 230/234 111+4 Cam, LS2 Heads, Tick Master,Extreme Chassis 8.8 with 4.30's, BMR LCA And Torque Arm, Edelbrock PHB, FIPK intake, Ported TB. Im more concerned with the narrowband at this point im having my rev limiter moved down to 6200 to be a little on the safer sideOriginally posted by Plum Nuts View PostGo back and read Joels post its a very good description of the whole issue.01 NBM Base SS build #514 M6 Pat G/EPS 230/234 111+4 Cam, LS2 Heads, Tick Master,Extreme Chassis 8.8 with 4.30's, BMR LCA And Torque Arm, Edelbrock PHB, FIPK intake, Ported TB. Rev limiter wont even stop it if you miss a shift bad...Originally posted by my95z28 View PostRev limiter is very important on a manual car. If you are shifting at 5k, and miss your shift when power shifting, it gets to 6200 FAST. If the rev limiter wasn't there, who knows how high it would spin.
