Steve go to shoebox.com it show wires to cut and put in a resister to bypass security. As for as your remote, carefully open it, take out the printed circuit board. You'll see the lock unlock buttons and on the printed circuit board where they contact. clean the contact area, a piece of paper rubbing it is suficient. Put it back together and should work like a champ.sigpic

i know when my 92 camaro would not start it would turn over and the security in the Ignition was bad and my brother replaced it with some kind of servo that was like 3$ at a electrical shop the guy said he has people come in all the time with that problem and a shop wanted 350$ to fix it but the down side to the fix is anyone can steal you car with a screwdriver but for me it comes down to money and i did it the cheap way . and if anyone wants to steal my car you can try but you better hope you get away cause if i catch you your gonna be sorry you messed with my car

well, since this last problem, it has done it twice. once about a month back and then again today. i replaced the battery and neutral safety switch on the clutch. wouldn't work, go back out to the car the next day and it fires right up. right now it currently wont start again. i have checked the ground wires and there are no loose connections. when i turn the key, all the dash lights (ses, brake, security, abs, check gauges, etc) turn off when I crank the key. i can hear the fuel pump turn on. what i don't get is if it is the starter, why it works consistently for up to several months and then not work, then two days later works like a charm again when i haven't touched the car. tried both keys, does not make a difference. car is currently sitting in front of my house in the street.

You look like you tryed and elieminated everything but the starter. Can you hear the start solinoid click when it does't start? A bad spot on the start motor comunicator would cause those intermitant failures if armature stops on a bad contact then it won't start. or could be contact on solinoid. If you really want to know pull starter and take it apart. if you don't care replace the starter.sigpic

well, Tuesday night, we push started the car and got it running, took it to my parents and diagnosed that the starter solenoid was bad. Replaced it Wednesday night and it ran fine. Went out to my car this morning, heard a slight clicking noise with the starter trying to engage but no luck. luckily i was on my driveway and was able to roll start it backwards to get to work. then nothing, back to the original problem with the starter not engaging at all. push started it and got it to my parents back on lunch. we then started diagnosing it again but jumping the starter relay connection with the clutch in, and key in the run position. starter then was starting to engage. quickly swapped the fan relay with the starter relay and it fired right up. quick run to murray's for a new relay and im back in business. just happened to be two intermittent parts that failed at different times. no she is back running just as strong as before. i love having a stick and being able to push start it if need be.
