  • Code 54 Issue

I'm having a problem with my car starting. It won't start when cold until the oil pressure builds up enough to energize the fuel pump.

Last year I was having this same issue and I had the fuel pump replaced. This year my fuel pump relay wouldn't prime so I replaced it but it still doesn't prime with the new relay but the relay clicks when the ignition is turned on. I also put the old relay back on and it also clicks so I'm not sure if my relay was even bad.

    Any suggestions on this one.

If the relay clicks, it works.

Fuel Pump Fuse or wiring, I'd suggest to check.

Code 54-Fuel Pump Circuit Low Voltage (at least thats what it is on my 86 camaro) Does your oil pressure gauge work corectly? A bad oil pressure gauge could cause the issue.
