Hey, I am having trouble with my charging system. I just installed a brand new GM Goodwrench LS1 into my 99 Z28 and it will not charge? I tested the battery and it is good, I also installed a new alternator. I have heard something about fusable links but I am not familiar with the link, can someone help me out? Please.

Their basically a piece of wire that acts like a fuse. You just have to replace the section of wire that burned out.

you have to check for 12 volts on your L terminal. that is the smaller red wire that plugs into your alternator. it sounds like you may have an open or short in that wire . its what (turns on the alternator) just turn your key on engine off and use a 12v test light hooked to a GOOD ground and it should light up. if not, unless you have a meter and some good electrical experience I would send it to a repair facility or if you need help you can pm me. i love electrical issues
