  • Ignition Problems ? .... HELP

Took my '55 Chevy truck in to the mechanicAnd , can't figure it out...

Symptoms: Drive down the street , drive it down the street no certain amount of miles (it differs) and it dies ,like someone turned the key off..Pull over turn it off ,back on and it fires back up.Them it might not do it for a while ,and then it happens again.

All wires were checked, tried everything couldn't get it to die
    in the shop....

Anybody ever heard of the MSD 6al box causing this.
Cutting off like that and than resetting itself....

    Any info greatly appreciated....

Ruled that out because as soon as it shut down it would restart in a matter of seconds. If it was the fuel pump(electric),it would needa little time to reprime its self...

I WOULD STILL CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE:
ALSO I HAVE HEARD OF THE 6AL BOX GOING BAD BUT ITS VERY RARE:
THAT COULD BE IT BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUT A TESTER ON HER AND DRIVE IT DOWN THE ROAD... AND LOOK AT IT.... THE Light wired into the inside

I've had quite a few MSD boxes go bad. But I've never had one restart though. Not saying it couldn't though. What's the rest of the ignition constist of? If it's points, a bad condenser could do it.
