ses light

Have you seen this problem before i have 94 firebird v8.dealer check it they said no codes were found .ses light come on both fans,i have change both o2 sensors,new gm distributor.When i change the o2 sensor two years ago the light came on but may be once or twices no problem. one year ago i put in a new distributor an the light on all the time an both fans my second catalytic converter is bad.

How does she handle? Has this 'problem' gotten worse over time since you put in your distributor last year? Also, did the dealer you took it too run a full diagnostic, or just use a code scanner?

the dealer did a code scan but the light wasn't on all the time like now .the engine run good for 179 on it but i have ruin another catalytic con.

If the car drives fine, minus the bad smell from the bad cat, but your ses light is on and no codes from a scan. hmmmm....i would just take it to a shop and get a full diagnostic from a technician. They can dig a lot more deeper than a scanner. It should at the least narrow down what it is if not figure it out, which it should seeing as it isn't really cheap to do anymore. try to stay away from a dealer shop because they'll charge a lot more. Denoyer Chevrolet wanted to charge me 105 bucks, a local shop quoted me at 72 bucks. I don't know what the prices are where you are, but thats about what you should expect. Unless you know somebody that can hook you up with a free or discounted diag.

i purchase a scanner an got a code 26. so i replaced the canister purge solenoid no more ses light
