  • Car Not Starting

a few days ago i was having problems in my upper rpm range, anything over 3800rpm the engine seemed to give up or stall out like it was running out of gas. problem only showed itself under hard acceleration. only problems i knew of were a rattling cat. last night and this morning the car will no longer even start. the accesories work in the on position, but i can't hear the fuel pump priming like i normally do (i wait til it primes before starting the engine). when i try to turn it over it just makes that crank noise over and over but no ignition. no clue what the problem is... has new spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, and optima red battery within the last 30k miles.

odds are it could be a fuel pump.
Get a fuel pressure guage and hook it up. Turn the key on and see what you get.

no ses light (like always ) the cat is new less than two months old, but the rattling i think is more of an annoyance than a mechanical failure. im thinking it could be fuel pump.. if this was the only problem would the car not start with these symptoms?

doesnt really matter on an fbody, dropping the tank is the hard way of doing it. you have to drop the exhaust and the axle to do it that way.

If my pump ever goes out I'm cutting the trap door and giving it no second thoughts.

age of cat doesnt matter - especially if aftermarket

rattling from the cans ='s shattered material ='s loss of power due to back pressure + comtinued driving ='s pushing shattered material to rear of cat ='s plugged cat ='s no start

start by dropping the exhaust if im wrong im sorry - if im right and you trying other things youll fry pistons before you realize it
