Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Are optispark replacements/coil conversions worth the hassle/money?
Are optispark replacements/coil conversions worth the hassle/money?
Pretty much what the title asks, Stuff like the Deltec or LTCC coil conversion. and/or MSD Optispark or Dynaspark aftermarket replacements.
What kind of horsepower gains can I expect? (Just kidding)
Also I dont think I have any optispark problems but I have never changed the cap and rotor set and I was wondering if thats something I should do?
The Chevy Camaro was built with a single purpose in mind which it executes flawlessly...Going very very fast in a straight line until your hair catches on fire.
if i can give you any advice about the opti- if it aint broke DONT EVEN TOUCH IT. I dont care if its no longer visible underneath grease and grime - working? leave it alone
ive read that delteqs still use the core components of the opti, so im not sure what the benefit is. vented optis really arent that bad contrary to popular belief. it was the non-vented ones that had problems.
Fair enough, but is there any benifit to changing out the cap and rotor or should I just leave that alone as well?

If its running like shit.. and you havent changed the cap n rotor.. yes theres a benefit. I cant see spending all that money on the conversion.. for the longevity sure it would be great.
To the best of my knowledge its running fine ( knock on fiberglass) I just figured the car has about 140k on it and the original cap and rotor and with any other car when you do a tune up you replace the cap and rotor. I guess the opti is a different animal though.
