Head Lamp Help!

Ok so when I hit my alarm button (lock, or unlock) my headlights open and close by their self and when they close the left one makes this loud noise for about 5 seconds like it's still trying to shut or something i believe it's the motor because it sounds just like when my window motor went
The left light does the same thing if i just open and close them with the switch normally
I also cant just turn my fog lights on when i do the head lights pop up but they dont come on unless i turn them on
Whats the deal?
Is there any way i can just disable my headlights and just use the fogs until i can get it fixed or something I need this problem resolved asap

Sounds like the gear is going bad in the motor. GM used nylon gears in these things. There are kits out there that can be used to replace the nylon gear with a brass gear, then you are good to go.

I will see if i can find the kit and post the link.

In the meantime, you can raise the head lights up and then pull the fuses for the headlight motors, at least till you can get the new gears. I think in your fuse box under the hood you should see two fuse locations marked "L Headlight DR" & "R Headlight DR", if you pull those once the headlights are up then they will not go down once you shut the headlights off.

I have done this before on my Firebird. As long as you take you time this is easy and turns out great. Plus it is a lot cheaper than buying new headlight motors.
