Ok my security light comes on randomly. Some times when i try to start the car it hesetates before it cranks. Well last night it wouldent start at all and the security light was on with the key out of the ignition. I waited a while the light when out and it started right up. Any ideas people. I have power locks but i don't have keyless entry.

Alot of times it's the VATS reader in the lock cylinder. If your spare Key doesn't work than that's what it is. Mine has acted up similarly for around 4 years now [only about once every 2 months or so]. After the initial start attempt the security light will remain on for about 3 min. When it goes out you can start the car. Try using rubbing alcohol on the Key resistor and then clean it with an eraser, sometimes it solves the problem.
I believe theres a way to bypass the system with a resistor, and I think it can be disabled by a tuner aswell.

Yeah, you can totally bypass it with a resistor. If you take a multimeter you can measure the resistance going through the chip (the chip is just 1 of 12 different combination resistances) and then get resistors to match that exact resistance, wire them inline with the ignition wire that goes through the VATS and it will work.

bypass is easy, and the sad part is, it will still start without the key when it works if a thief knows what wires to use
