I got caught in a very generous rain storm last year on I69 west of Lansing.
It started kinda sneaky... just a drizzle at first. I stepped up the speed a little, and it seeeeemed like the rain was staying out. Then the sky dumped on me. I was wrong. It comes right in at 80mph.

You don't really understand how slow that top really is, until you're waiting for it in the rain.

Left the top down on my 62' Pontiac Tempest in the middle of a nice downpour one time. I was scooping water off of the back seat with my hands. while trying to dry off my stereo system.

Was at Riverbends park at 22 Mile Rd and Ryan. I lived at 18 and Ryan at the time.

It was sprinkling and I was making fun of Vince for driving around with his convertible top up called him a chicken and stuff. I drive home with the t-tops off and I noticed the closer to 18 I got the harder it started to rain. Yeah, go under an overpass and this guy is flashing his lights and honking at me. Thought "WTF is this guy's problem?" I look infront of me and there is a freaking WALL of water coming at me. Needless to say, the car was damp inside and out for a few days.

i used to have an old jeep and id keep the top off from may til september, rain or shine. if i knew it was gonna rain all day id throw a blue tarp over it, but ive been caught in the rain driving around a million times. good thing about the jeep was waterproof seat covers and rhino lined floor with drain holes. itd be dry a half hour after the sun came out

Rhino floor? Never heard of it, but I'm picturing a rhino hide. Got pics?

Yeah I got caught 1 time going from Saginaw to Bay City.
It was sunny when I left.......rained on the highway.....sunny when I got to Bay City.
It helps when you go faster.....but it was raining really hard for a couple minutes. Yeah it was pretty weird for sure.

The worst is the sunny rains... I got caught in one two summers ago the clouds were behind me but somehow it jsut started to dump on me, speeding up didnt do crap. The porche thought the same thing must have blown by me at 70-80 mph on a 45.

Yeah, I wanted to go fast that time I got dumped on but it was raining so hard that everyone was hitting the brakes because they couldn't see the car infront of them. THAT SUCKED.
