I don't think a 99 jimmy can run that stuff stock lol, must of been a new guy working that day.

Only the newer cars and trucks can lol

That is the point of this entire thread is arguing whether or not e85 hurts pre flex fuel vehicles. The OP had an Ls1 car that he ran e-85 in.

if you upgrade to larger injectors and tune for the e85 then you can run it in a non-flex car. Just adding it to a 99 jimmy is not going to work

My grandpa has a GM car that can run on E-85 and he gets worse gas millage and performance over regular gas.

I think it's over rated but I do know people that have made gains with it too.

Well for one your car isn't tuned to run 100% E85. The air/fuel ratio was way off and that was the cause for the sputtering and spattering. And secondly I would go to meijer's and kick that guys a** for not knowing what he was talking about.

You would be correct, one of the things I did was put in larger injectors because of the need of more fuel to make the same power. And then I had my car tuned specifically to run E85 only.

Factory cars aren't tuned to make maximum power, just to run and the reason for the MPG is because of the need for 30% more fuel to combust properly.

I would say yes it's overrated as a everyday fuel unless the price is about 20-30% lower than regular. But what it is underrated as is a great power adder. I made over 25rwhp just with the fuel change.

Yeah, SSrhodes spilled the beans, and then the SS hood, plus all the interior that you were selling. I was looking forward to having a much more powerful twin to roll around with.
