Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I have a 99 Trans Am with RAM AIR.
I just picked up a SLP Cold Air intake/induction.
It seams like the metal box will prevent cold air getting in.
Any thoughts?
Look up Bgra or Brian green ram air kit. No longer made but it's the best kit to directly utilize the nostrils (when you remove the factory baffles behind the nostrils). I have one of the few kits left around and love it. You can hear the air sucking in through the nostrils. It also comes with block off plates in case of rain.

the SLP cold air kit is setup to take fresh air from underneath the car and not from the hood nostrils, this has actually proven to be the best area to pull from as the frond diverter moves a good bit of air up there for the radiator. Its common practice to seal the lid so that it only pulls from the bottom and then for the air duct the longer the better.
I'll add to Jeff's post - the nostrils are just catching air, and in front of the radiator is a high pressure zone with tons of fresh air being forced into it. The bottom feeder style works well. FTRA, SSRA, Chrs1313, etc are all effective systems.
Thanks guy's, I love this site, we all have the same love for our car's, just some guys have better faster cars that keep us wanting more, when dose it stop?
