    First off the car - 1996 Z-28 Camaro LT1 with auto trans. 147000 miles

    So my stupid egr valve is bad. Have had it to 2 diffrent shops and one of the nuts is rounded off so no one can get it changed as it sits.
    Question is...........if im pulling the intake to fix this problem do i have any work done to the intake or even replace it? If its coming off im thinking just delete the egr? With the miles on the motor im wondering how much extra work is really worth the time and $$? With only wanting to pull the intake and nothing else(all stock)would intake work really help me at all?

    What ya think?

    If it were me, and the intake had to come off, I'd take a hard look at my future plans for the car. Intake work, by itself, may net you some gains, but they will be negligible, and you won't notice a power increase at all. If you planned to do heads and cam, you might benefit from some intake porting, but again, it won't make much difference.

    I'd pull it off, clean it up, maybe paint the intake while it's off, get the EGR off, install the block-off plates, and put it back together. It's a lot cheaper than using a bad EGR valve to rationalize buying a cam, rockers, pushrods, valvesprings, ported heads, and intake work. Trust me, I've been there before. haha

              Boy that would be awesome. I think it might be nice to have a extra to paint up and have ready so when i pull mine i could just slap the other right back on. Im not sure when i will be back down your way but when i am ill get ahold of you and see if you still have one.

                This one is already painted red. With base clear. And I polished the fines on top of it.

                        that'll work out great too, free intake, all you need is block off plates and you can ignore the egr on yours. just remember to block off where the egr tube goes to the exhaust maniold

                          From what I hear, 96-97 isn't EGR delete friendly w/o a tune
