basically when your having your floor done tell them to weld in some 2x2 steel or whatever that size is between both subframes. thats exactly what i was gonna do. i know 85z28kid actually cut the ears off the subframe of his 85 so he could use a thicker piece of metal.

This happened because water got under your carpet from inside the car. There are 2 spots you can check. The T top leaking for 1. Spray the car with a garden hose with somebody in the car and see if there is a leak. 2. This option is what I am sure it is. On the driver side firewall near where the foot pedals are mounted if you pull the carpet back and really look up there you will see 2 roughly 1/2" diameter holes paired together that should have gromets/plugs in them. Usually people use these to poke wires through to the interior. If one is open or there is a hole in the gromet not filled by a wire it will leak water behind the carpet/padding causing this. My car had wet carpet for the longest time and that was the culprit. Luckily I caught it.
Best of luck.Last edited by r1cefed; May 26th, 2013, 12:22 PM.99ws6 - Huron Speed Turbo - PT67
