Electric cutout on GXP?

So a few years ago I had an electric cutout that I purchased from summit on a gtp and even when it was closed it just seemed ungodly loud. I really am not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that I had a borla xr-1 as a resonator and two straight through design magnaflow mufflers or not but it was obnoxios even when it was closed... obviosly much louder when it was open but nonetheless, annoying.
I'm just afraid to get a cutout for my GXP because of my bad experience. Has anyone noticed a significant increase in drone after they added a cutout to their current setup? I have a full Magnaflow system and it's absolutely perfect for every day drving, screams when I step on it and idles nice and quiet, but I'm afraid that having an electric cutout (even when it's closed) will somehow make it louder. I really want the ability to open it up and really show off the LS roar every once in a while but I don't want to sacrifice my dd comfort. :/ Any help would be much appreciated. Convince me that it's ok to buy an e-cutout

Also, I was thinking possibly removing the resonator and putting in a Borla XR-1 bullet muffler ( These things sounds absolutely amazing) in place and putting the cutout after the xr1 but before the y for the rear mufflers. I know it will still be somewhat quiet but it will be a thousand times louder than a full magnaflow system and it will be a clean sound if the cutout is open if everything is going through an xr1 first. How does an xr1 compare to a magnaflow resonator? Will I noticed a huge difference when it's all closed up by having the borla there instead of a resonator or will it basically do the same thing.. I just don't want any type of drone at cruising speeds when it's closed.

I had a cutout on my gxp, if its closed its not gonna be louder than if u didnt have a cutout. . . .

Yeah if the cutout is sealed properly then it should be no different having an e-cutout closed than having no e-cutout at all.

I have dual cutouts with a magna flow bullet, and noticed no drone at all.

If its sealed properly is the key phrase, most of them tend to work their way open ever so slightly from the force of the exhaust. I found every once in a while I could tap my close button and it would shut slightly, only to work its way open a tad again.

My dad's car has this problem as well. Personally I find it extremely annoying because it's almost like a rattling sound when it happens, which is 95% of the time. They're QTP cutouts for what it's worth.

Awesome thanks for the input. QTP is what i had on mine too so that might have had something to do with it. They had an awesome easy to use design (came with a remote to open cutout from keys and had about 50ft range) but im not sure if it was closing all the way. I guess the only way is to try it out. I'll most likely get another one just like what I had and if it does in fact stay open, even slightly, then back she goes!

I have a BadlanzHPE cutout (not 100% on the spelling) but it has been flawless for the time I've had it. The guy custom made it out of stainless for my IROC

just checked out the site and it is very reasonably priced. If you've had good luck with it then I think I'll give them a shot. Not bad for under $200
