So, this was the result of the noise? End up being bad main bearings?

Any engine machinist can turn the crank down for you if you have a spun bearing.

I had multiple spun bearings on my LT1 - polished the crank, new bearings, cylinder walls bored 0.040 out, etc for $1200. Was done at State Motor on Gratiot south of I696. I think it's considered Roseville over there.

I'll call, not looking for all that on a 3.8. Lol. There's a guy at work with a 2004 2wd Silverado he bought for the cab, might be able to get a v8 and trans with wiring and the computer. 5.3 swap please.. lol.

Crankshaft craftsman is at Davison/Campeau. They do OEM work there from time/time.

My personal favorite is Moldex over in Redford. Last crank I had done there was $175 for a 10/10 grind and polish. Dead nuts perfect though. They are considered one of the best in the country.

By new... do you mean OEM new or Eagle/Scat/some other import?

will need intake, injectors, throttle body, all accessories, harness is completely wrong, PCM might work with a flash, and trans tail housing will need to be swapped.

Had a chance to drop the pan today. Spun #5.. shopping for prices tomorrow on repair vs replace. $154 on rockauto for a reground with bearings.
