  • Coolant flush/refill

Well I went today to have my coolant flushed and re-filled.. It had been 5 years since I put coolant in.. They tried using that automated machine to suck out the old coolant and fill with fresh. They could not build vacuum to suck out the old coolant.. Dude looked around and found that my line to the overflow tank was hooked up where the line for the crossover tube under throttle body should of been and vise versa. I've never touched this, so it had to of been wrong since I owned the car.. Surprised the car has never overheated before.. That's all, just thought I would share..

Edit: BTW the car hooks like a raped ape with the 9".. I can't even do a burnout with my linelock, it pushes right through(this was dry of course, no water).

Is it sliding the front tires or are your brakes not holding? I found with my line lock that I had to really stomp the brake pedal and hold it for a second before flipping the switch or else the fronts would not hold very well.

Brakes not holding. Never had the issue before with the same tires. But before they were on a 8" rim. Only reason I found out was because they had an informal burnout contest at power tour. I, also, have to pump the brakes up good to hold(which I thought I had). Guess we'll see when I get to the track.

what about the 9" is causing it to hook so much better? Or were there other parts replaced in the process as well? Good to hear that though, im starting to think about saving up for one.

Can you confirm which one goes where? I recently had them both off when swapping heads and I really had to think about where they go. I ended up puting the overflow hose on top b/c I figured the overflow should probably work in conjuction with the radiator cap and I put the crossover hose on the bottom b/c I figured the crossover should always have flow. I never gave it a second thought until I read your post...

btw...I normally have to pump up my brakes before using my line lock in order for it to hold at the track

I have to push my pedal until it feels like I may bend it lol and then flip my switch and it holds great then.

This is how mine is hooked up now. I thought I had pumped the shit out of them, I'll find out at the track.

no parts were swapped, everything is already aftermarket. But I did have to adjust everything for the 9", it sits completely different then the 10 bolt. Could just be my imagination, my 60' times will tell the tale.
