For about six months now I've been trying to diagnose my cars problem. It started with throwing p0171/p0174 "lean bank" codes shortly after I flushed my dexcool and changed to prestone. The car still ran normally and had zero side effects. When I scanned the codes and looked at the freeze frame it was always throwing it at LOW rpm's 1000-2000. At first it wasn't very frequent, they would pop every 100 miles or so. Eventually the lights would go off after 3-4 good starts with no issues. Fast forward a few months and I haven't seen the codes go away in a long time. Even after disconnecting the battery and driving around it would come back fairly quickly. All of this made me think vacuum leak. intake manifold gaskets seemed to be an issue for the 3800ii so it had me thinking that was causing the problem. At higher rpm's i still don't really see any issues yet. What do you guys think?
I don't have disappearing coolant, or milky oil from the coolant leaking in. so still not sure about the gaskets.
If anyone more qualified wants to help look at the car I'd appreciate it.
I also just read about EGR tube leaks, could that be a problem? I know I had to take it out to install the new thermostat but didn't know there was a certain way to do it other than unscrew bolt, rescrew bolt.
